Redefined : volume 1 is a visual poetry collaboration that engages the reflections of poets to questions. Defining their view, unpacking their process and intimately connecting with their words crafted. Connecting space and poetry to articulate answers to three questions through poetry: The questions are,

What’s your style?

Where are you From?

What makes you feel safe?

Each of these questions were asked to the poets before filming and their reflections activated a space for REDEFINITION. Activating a point of departure for the sharing of verse that contributes to a conversation across poetic genre. REDEFINING their positions within the narrative that they are writing. Engaging a contemporary manifestation of oral traditions embedded within their different geographic locations. Volume 1 of REDEFINED starts off in the city of Cape Town, inviting rapper/writer and activist Niko10Long alongside poet, writer and actress Khadija Heeger to engage their poetic responses to the presented questions.
